FAQs
What will happen in individual therapy?
Individual therapy is a collaborative process. We’ll start by exploring what’s bringing you in, and what’s felt hard, confusing, or unsustainable. I use a combination of somatic therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you reconnect with your body, shift stuck patterns, and feel more grounded in who you are. Together, we’ll focus on what actually works for you, not what should work.
I’ve done therapy before and nothing really changed. Will this be different?
That’s a valid concern, and a common experience, especially for neurodivergent folks or people with complex histories. If past therapy felt surface-level, overly pathologizing, or just not tailored to you, I want to acknowledge that. My approach is different: it's relational, body-aware, and personalized. We go at your pace, focus on what feels meaningful, and make space for the parts of you that may have been missed or misunderstood in the past.
What will happen in couples therapy?
Couples therapy focuses on understanding your communication patterns, building emotional safety, and learning how to show up for each other in a more connected, responsive way. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and bring a strong focus on attachment and neurodiversity. You'll learn how to recognize your cycles, repair disconnection, and grow in mutual respect and closeness.
How can neurodivergent individuals and families be supported in therapy?
I specialize in working with autistic individuals and families navigating identity, burnout, sensory overwhelm, and family dynamics. I support clients in unmasking, finding language for their experiences, and developing sustainable rhythms of care. For families, we work toward connection, not compliance, through regulation, respect, and attuned communication.
What are somatic approaches, and why do they matter?
Somatic therapy involves tuning into your body and nervous system, not just your thoughts. Many people carry stress, trauma, or sensory overwhelm in their bodies. Somatic approaches help you learn what safety feels like, recognize your limits, and build tools for regulation and release. It’s especially helpful when traditional talk therapy hasn’t been enough.
What will my first appointment look like?
The first session is a low-pressure space to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, explore what you’d like support with, and start identifying what feels important to you in therapy. You don’t have to prepare anything—you just have to show up as you are.
Do you take insurance?
I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, many clients are able to get partial reimbursement if their insurance includes out-of-network benefits. I’ll provide you with a superbill (a specialized receipt) to submit to your plan. If you’re unsure how this works, I can walk you through the steps.
How long will therapy take?
The duration of your therapy depends on your goals and capacity. Some clients come short-term to work through a specific transition or challenge. Others stay longer to process deeper wounds, shift long-term patterns, or continue building connection and insight. We’ll move at a pace that honors both your needs and your nervous system.
